E-Eagle Books SucksAnd here is why - Early August 2008 I ordered a DVD from Amazon.Com thru one of their sellers. The sellers ID is E-Eagle Books. The sellers email address is dbixler1@charter.net . The DVD I requested was entitled "Dance with the Devil" starring Rosie Perez and Javier Bardem. Here is a link to the listing that I ordered from - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00002SSLB Here is the E Eagle Books webshop at Amazon.Com - E-Eagle Books Upon receipt I opened the box to find that E-Eagle Books had sent me "Perdita Durango". Perdita Durango is the title of the foreign release of the film. I turned over the box to find that the text was in German.. Here are scans of the front and back of the CD
While I dont know that much german I know enough to understand that it was A) A german edition CD B) A region 2 CD that doesnt play in US players (at least not legally) See here - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DVD_region_codes Notice the DVD back says Landercode 2 at the bottom. Thats German for "this wont play in your US DVD player, your screwed because the guy who sold it to you is a dummkopf ".... Here is a copy of the order at Amazon - It obviously is "Dance with the Devil" and NOT "Perdita Durango" as this seller claims...
But to give this guy the benefit of the doubt (I've found that after exhaustive research I dont actually know EVERYTHING) I tried it out. Number #1 DVD player in the house, no dice.. Tried it in the bedroom player... Nope... Ok - maybe the playstation 3? No sir. Not happening.. So now I get to thinking.. I could understand if this guy sent me the german edition of the film on accident if the titles were the same but this seemed more deliberate in nature. You would have to actually KNOW that Perdita Durango is the same film as Dance with the Devil in order to send that to me. Now I am getting mad because I feel like hes trying to scam me. I mean honestly, how many people are gonna take the time to send this thing back to him and get a refund of their $15 or whatever... Perhaps some people but not most people. I would not be the least suprised if he does this all the time and gets away with it! Sounds like a pathetic little scam to me but it does make sense on some level. If he sends you the wrong DVD and you accept it he wins. If you dont accept it and have the time to send it back he wants you to do it on your dime. Again, he wins (or at least he is out nothing for trying to unload his worthless crap on you) and you are out both the cost and hastle of sending it back. Real quality way of doing business. In anger I wrote this email..
To which he promptly replied with
Ok so... He replies that it is not the german edition and it plays on US DVD players... "I played it myself just to be sure it works" he says. Why would he play it himself to make sure it works before shipping if he didnt think there was a chance it would not. If it was the US edition to begin with why would you need to "make sure it works" LOL.. Now it becomes apparent Im not dealing with a rocket scientist here but ok, I will take the bait. Lets chat a bit. This is starting to become worth the price of admission after all. Sure its alot like sparring with a one armed man but he is starting to really get under my skin. I mean where do you draw the line for crying out loud. This man is bold face lying to me! Im actually in awe with my mouth open. I respond with
I thought I was being pretty generous in that email by basically giving him the opportunity to offer return postage for the item. I really don't think that I should be paying the return postage for his mistake.. even if its $1.... For anyone with a ounce of customer service skill this is a no brainer. Especially because, if he has any brains at all, it has started becoming apparent to him that I'm probably not the best candiate for his brand of bullshit.... Here is his
Lets break this down for a second... He states that he shipped the version he stated on Amazon (well we all know that is not true from the photos of the dvd I have provided above and the page I ordered from) and that he did not bait and switch. He also states he ordered it from Amazon in the first place. Perhaps he ordered it incorrectly and now he is trying to pawn it off on me..? Maybe? Anyhow - I love how he tells me that if I threaten him (I threatened to report him to amazon in the first email) I can keep the DVD he shipped incorrectly and receive nothing... Real nice guy (gal?)...Oh and all the time I have been signing my email with my name, he (or she?) does not. I can see why. I probably would not want to claim writing those emails either. They sound like they were written by a 5 year old. Typical cowardly behaviour. Ya gotta love the internet sometimes...... I probably would not be as angry over something as small as this if I was not accustomed to great service from internet sellers. I have over 150 buyer transactions at Ebay and have left 1 bad feedback in all the years I have shopped there. I have even purchased 3 vehicles off of Ebay! I am also a regular shopper at Amazon. I have received excellent service 99.9% of the time. Thats why this guy really pissed me off this time. Not only does he try to rip me off but when he is called on it he wants me to pay the postage for his mistake??!!? And he (she?) somehow thinks this is acceptable. All for $5 profit. Can you just imagine what kind of sub human garbage would do that for $5? In my mind I imagine someone in overalls sitting in a flea market stall all day picking their teeth with a half rotten toothpick. After all of this garbage I decided that people needed to know about this jerk. If I gave in and just sent the DVD back for a refund and paid for his mistake it would have left me with a bad feeling in my stomach. So instead I decided to take away the power of him threatening me with the loss of my money and keep the CD. I may contact my CC company and dispute the charges and I may not. I may contact Amazon.com and pitch and bitch and I may not.. The last thing I will be doing is sending this back to Wisconsin on my $$. It may not play in my DVD player but it might make a great mirror for signaling if I get lost in the forest. It also would make a decent coaster for drinks, although it does have a hole in the middle. It seems the box it came in works well as a flyswatter too! I figured screw it. Ill eat the $15 or whatever and take it out of his ass. This has worked very well for me in the past and I figure enough people will read this to cost him well over the $5 profit he made by ripping me off. If anyone searches E-Eagle Books reputation on the internet before purchasing they will find this page. If anyone views E-Eagle Books feedback at Amazon they will find their way to this page. That is satisfaction enough for me... This is was the last email I sent him -
Here is a quote from E-Eagle Books about page at Amazon "About E-Eagle Books Hardly... So yes, I did spend money to buy this domain, wasted time to write this down and post it online but it just seemed more satisfying than simply notifying Amazon (which is notorious for slapping vendors on the hand) . I want people to be protected from being scammed by this amazon seller that go's by the name of E Eagle Books at Amazon.Com. His email address is dbixler1@charter.net . This guy thinks he can rip off internet shoppers simply because they are not standing in front of him and he feels he is insulated. Well - apparently he is wrong because I will make sure that within the next month or so this page will forever outrank anything he may put online for his business name. It is, after all, what I do for a living. Pretty dumb move just to make $5 but whatever..... We have already clarified this guy isnt the sharpest pencil in the box. I would bet he looks something like this judging from his email correspondence and business tact. *****UPDATE****** Well, after that email I guess he did not get the message that I was gonna keep the DVD and handle it differently. No suprise considering this guy's intellect... Here is what he sent me.
Hmmmmm... Interesting for sure.. Perhaps this guy is not the total cause of this screwup.. Well, that part of his story may be true but there are still alot of holes. In summary he claims to have:
These are all obvious lies that anyone can see from the evidence I've produced above and our unedited email conversations. With that in mind, regardless of whether Amazon listed it incorrectly or not, this guy is still a world class EDITED . Still, I am not without a heart so I decided to give him a break (of sorts). I figure at this point I dont trust him to refund me once he receives it. I already trusted him to send me the correct DVD and we all can see how that worked out.. So I decided to see what kind of a business man I was dealing with (as if I could not tell already). Oh - and notice in his last email he has ceased to use proper grammer or periods in his run on sentence.. LOL. Perhaps it was my comment about reporting him to Amazon for threatening to make me keep what I didnt order that rattled him. Im pretty sure they would frown upon that kind of behaviour from one of their merchants. Perhaps even suspend his right to sell thru them since it was so blatant. Oh well, heres my email response
Now I think, all things considered, that I was really cool there. I mean, I should not have to pay for return shipping under any circumstance as I did everything correctly. I even had to put up with his idiocy and crapola customer service. The least I deserved was for him to pay the shipping. He responds with.... LOL
This guy is what my Jewish friends refer to as a putz. Enough said.. I left him his well deserved feedback. heres the exchange...
:-) Yep.. He told me on 3 different OCCASIONS to return the item I did not order at my own expense..Its all my fault for not "following his instructions" LOL. I love how he refers to me as a "person" and not a customer. This guy is priceless. Well I'm done entertaining him and wasting my time with this moron. I've purchased this domain and own it for at least a year so I will leave this up and monetize it by throwing up some ads. Maybe I can make back some of the money I lost to this jerk... Thanks for reading! So in case the search engine spiders havent gotten the message I will close with E EAGLE BOOKS SUCKS. DBIXLER1@CHARTER.NET is a book selling scam artist on Amazon.Com. Avoid doing business with this clown or you may be his next victim.. Oh, and as my old buddy DBIXLER1@CHARTER.NET would say Have a great day! |
| I should'nt be buying these movies anyway.. I only watch them one or two times then they end up on a shelf. I think I am going to try Netflix. Netflix lets you rent, watch and return DVDs from home with no late fees - You can try it free for 2 weeks |
